Landell Mills expands portfolio of contracts in Timor-Leste
Adding to a portfolio of contracts in Timor-Leste, Landell Mills is pleased to announce the award of a new contract focused on agriculture improvement. The technical assistance contract, ‘Agriculture Improvement and Water Harvesting Project (Project Preparation)’, is funded by the Asian Development Bank, with a total value of $695,000.
The contract will support the Government of Timor-Leste and ADB in the design and due diligence of the proposed investment project which will have an approximate value of $81m over a six-year period. With a focus on water and agriculture improvement, the project aims to develop climate-resilient farming systems, with a key focus on agro-forestry, and construct community-based water harvesting and flood protection infrastructure. Additionally, the project will strengthen the institutional and organisational capacity of farmer groups, communities and government.
Implementing agencies for the contract include the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, local governments of Dili, Manatuto, Manufahi, and Oecussi; and Secretary of State for Environment, while the executing agency will be the Council for Administration of the Infrastructure Fund.
The contract began in December 2021 and will continue until August 2022. Find out more about Landell Mills’ work in Timor-Leste here.
