News 30.12.24 Tuvalu Governance

We are pleased to have been awarded the EU-Tuvalu Support Measures contract, which will run for 18 months and has a value of €149,999. This contract win further strengthens Landell Mills’ presence in the Pacific region – earlier in 2024, we were awarded the Tuvalu Coconut Rehabilitation – Technical Assistance contract.

The EU-Tuvalu Support Measures contract aims to complement and enhance Tuvalu's overall support framework by providing a range of targeted interventions designed to strengthen cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Tuvalu. The key measures include:

  • provision of technical assistance to improve the capacity and efficiency of stakeholders involved in the EU-Tuvalu partnership
  • support for policy dialogue to foster mutual understanding and alignment on key development priorities
  • facilitation of EU-Tuvalu correspondence and cooperation, ensuring effective communication and coordination

The primary beneficiary of the contract is the Government of Tuvalu, particularly the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development which oversees the coordination of EU-Tuvalu cooperation and plays a central role in formally submitting payment requests under the EU Sector Budget Support framework.

Additional beneficiaries include the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Trade and the Department of Businesses in Tuvalu. These departments directly benefit from the EU-funded Sector Budget Support, which aims to enhance sectoral development and align with Tuvalu’s strategic objectives.
