Supporting Fight For Sight

News 03.10.24 Company news

In memory of our founder John Landell Mills, who passed away in 2023 and from whom the company takes its name, Landell Mills has made a donation of £5,000 to Fight For Sight.

Fight For Sight is a UK charity that funds research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease, and was one of John Landell Mills’ chosen charities. The charity invests the money that it raises into scientific research that could save sight, and social change projects that will change lives.

Scientific research funded by Fight For Sight aims to improve the understanding, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of vision loss. Breakthroughs and discoveries made include gene therapies that will help families living with inherited eye disease, and cutting-edge techniques such as optogenetics that could preserve sight. You can read more about the scientific research funded by Fight For Sight on their website.

One of the social change projects that the charity funded saw a group of vision impaired young people visit one of Jamie's Farms. These types of days out boost the confidence of vision impaired young people, and create lasting connections between those who take part.
